Pet Constipation: Foods That Cause It & Relief

Understanding constipation

Severe constipation (megacolon in cats) needs medical management. Most mild cases resolve with diet adjustment.

Plain canned pumpkin (1 tsp cats, 1–4 tbsp dogs), increased water, and walks help. Never give human laxatives.
